Programme Note

This piece was composed as a tribute to David Bowie who died at the beginning of 2016 and was premiered that year at the Karlheinz Company by Stephen De Pledge later that year.

Performance Note

The performer requires a handful of books or albums that can be balanced on the bottom keys of the piano. These need to weigh enough to depress the keys for the duration of the piece. The performance can begin with placing the items on the keys, and finish by removing them.
